Member Spotlight: Doris Menore (Kayahsun)

We are thrilled to spotlight Doris Menore (Kayahsun – "Woman Who Stands Above the Big Blue Sky"), one of our newly appointed Co-Chairs and an inspiring force across the skilled trades! An enrolled member of The Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin and a descendant of The Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin (Bear Clan), Doris brings technical expertise, field-tested resilience, and deeply rooted traditional values to heavy highway construction.

Highlights of Doris’s Journey

  • Background & Education: Transitioned from CNA work to earn her Associate degree in Geoscience as the first graduate in her field at the College of Menominee Nation.

  • Industry Leadership: Holds a Class A CDL and key certifications in NUC Density, AGG-Tech 1, and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), advancing from flagging to operating heavy equipment and density testing.

  • Advocacy: Serves with International Native Women in Trades (INWIT) and Co-Leads the NAWIC Indigenous Industry Council alongside three other women.
